These sweet treats are out of this world delicious! I love to make them for my family and friends. Not only do they taste good, but they also look pretty impressive. Orange and lemon are a match made in heaven, paired with the infamous macaron and you have the perfect dessert.

Macarons always get a bad wrap for being so hard to make, but they truly can be made in the comfort of your own home. It took me a couple tries to get it down, but they turned out beautifully when completed.
Making macarons definitely takes practice and patience. My recipe makes a smaller batch of macarons. I do this because if I mess up, I know I won't be wasting too many ingredients. Feel free to double the recipe if you are feeling confident!
Here are some tips to perfect macarons:
- Clean the bowl/whisk you are using to whip the egg white with lemon juice (eliminates any leftover grease that could interfere with fluffy whites)
- Check on your egg whites frequently while beating to insure they will not get over-beaten.
- Put a template under the parchment paper to pipe evenly sized macarons. I find this the easiest (and cheapest) way to pipe even macarons. It is way better than going out and buying a mat or molds. There are so many templates out there on the internet if you type in "macaron template” Just remember to pull the paper out before you put the trays into the oven!
- Wait 30 minutes before putting the macarons in the oven. This is VERY important. You need to wait until the macarons are a little hard before putting them in.
- Be patient! This is the most important tip, macarons take time. Once you put that in, you will get amazing results!
Now, let's jump into the recipe!
